No. Everything is visual. You place objects, set up puzzles, and wire game logic with triggers, conditions, and actions. If you can click, you can build.
Yes. On Builder and Studio you can export your game as a single self-contained HTML file and host it anywhere — your own site, an LMS, itch.io, or archive it. You are never locked in.
Publishing puts your game on the EscapeMaker Portal with its own page so players can discover it — every plan can, and the free plan publishes one game. Exporting downloads the game as a single HTML file you host yourself, with no EscapeMaker splash on it, and that is what Builder adds.
Builder and Studio give you the whole themed art library and let you upload your own images and audio; fonts are Studio. The free plan builds in the Castle, Space and Sewer art sets.
Ten built-in puzzle types: combination locks, pattern match, sequence, wires, jigsaw, item slots, slider locks, image buttons, pipe rotation, and memory match — each fully configurable, plus an inventory system and item combinations.
No. You get a game of your own — 10 scenes, every puzzle type — and one publish to the Portal so people can actually play it, free for as long as you like. You also get a finished escape game, Escape the Office, to open and change, and it does not use up your project. Builder is for the second game, your own art, and the downloadable file.
